The Good Man by Susie Silook, Yupik/Inupiaq

The Good Man, inspired by the forms of Amadeo Modigliani, is a touching sculpture: charming and quite a pleasure to view. Carved from a walrus tusk, adorned with glass beads, this young man is neatly dressed in a shirt and tie, hands shyly tucked into his pockets. This sculpture of a contemporary male is a departure from Silook's previous works. Paying tribute to the 20th century Italian artist's drawn-out style, the sculpture elevates Silook's work into a new realm of contemporary styling.

Sculpture is 17" x 2 14" x 1 1/4"; including the purple heartwood base, it is 21" tall.

Please note that walrus tusk cannot be exported from the United States.
